Well lets see....I can't post official results, but(due to circumstances) I ended up hauling away all the membership/recruiting details; including Hiltz rd.!!! I've been through them several times; and while ALL participation is appreciated; it seems there is LOTS of enthusiasum and support in Cape Breton for NSORRA!!!!!!

We also attracted a few quad riders(just wondering what's going on) and a few folks driving by that saw the signs....pulled in(and after some explanation of what NSORRA is about) signed UP!!!

I think we need to do more advertising for such events; but we were so busy, my wife was recruited to help out(she thought she was going on a weekend retreat)and she did't mind......

While I was fueling my truck at the Petro Can in Aulds Cove, a Honda CR 2stroke went by on the highway, on the back wheel; followed closely by a Hi Performance quad!! They pulled in, the quad pulled up to a pump and filled up. I saw the CR pull in, but it disappeared!!! I saw the quad at the air pump, the rider was filling up his worn out tires(Too much time on the pavement I think)and I asked about the CR rider..................LOTS of odd and questioning looks(CR was hidden around back)but after a few words(like have you heard of NSORRA?) a rider admitted the CR was his!!! He told me the Quad rider also rides a dirt bike!! I informed him and his buddies about the association, and our efforts in the area!!! THEY HAD NO IDEA that such a riding area was in the works!!!!! After a 10 minute conversation, I passed him a card and info....Another 2 or 3 members I think?      

Thats great!I agree that we need to advertise more. In fact, we need a communications plan and a Board Member to shepherd it, as I suggested to Steve P at the last BM. The release that Christene sent out the week before last was run in the Reporter on Wednesday past, but not picked up by radio. I did send in the release myself to The Hawk, but never heard it or saw it on the website. Babin's Yamaha posted it on their website for the last 2 weeks, and Bob T from Ramsay's Cycle posted it on the Loch Lomand website. But we need a better system. All that said, I believe more than ever that Drive to Rides at NSORRA sites are the best recuiting tool we could have! It is the Disney World formula on Hi-test! When folks are smilin' hard, it is easy to get their membership fee...

It was a great day! Great to see a handfull of female riders as well!

Track is pretty neat and the trails are reasonably challenging.

Judging by the mud and smiles, I would say fun was had by all!

Sorry, I was travelling with family around the trail, without my bike. I had given up on riding the new trail until GasGas showed interest in a Sunday ride, it never worked out.

That's great that the ride was such a success, trails look really interesting and well laid out.

Erwinvw nailed it when he said he saw what looked like the Malcolm Smith of Cape Breton walking up the road looking into each of the trails with a funny look in his eye..
And he never met him before...
